Darstellung meiner Arbeit

Ich verstehe Kunst als ursprüngliches und wesentliches Mittel der Kommunikation.

Mein eigenes künstlerisches Arbeiten verstehe ich einerseits als individuelle Möglichkeit mich auszudrücken und mitzuteilen, andererseits als Herausforderung Gesehenes, Erlebtes, Empfundenes, Gedachtes… mit bildnerischen Mitteln umzusetzen.

Ich will keine Realität abbilden sondern eine eigenständige Bildrealität schaffen. Gegenständliches tritt dabei weitgehend zurück, Farbe, Form und Komposition stehen im Vordergrund.

Ich arbeite selten nach einer vorgegebenen Bildidee, Vorlage oder nach der Natur, vielmehr entwickelt sich die Bildidee oder Thematik meist während des Malvorgangs. Ich arbeite oft mehrere Farbschichten übereinander und mache einzelne Schichten durch Wischen, Kratzen, etc. stellenweise wieder sichtbar.

I understand art as an original and essential mean of communication.

I see my own artistic work as an individual chance of expressing myself and of communicating on the one hand, and as a challenge to realize seen, experienced, felt and thought things by artistic means on the other hand.

In my paintings I do not want to represent reality, but to create a reality of its own. Objects do not have much importance here, as colour, form and composition play the leading role.

I rarely work by a given idea, by a pattern or by nature. The theme or idea develops itself most of the time during the act of painting. I often put several layers of paint on top of each other and make them visible again by whiping, scratching and so on.
